How to Virginize a Mercedes-Benz FBS4 DSM Using CG FC200 (Bench Method)?

This guide walks you through the process of virginizing a Mercedes-Benz Continental DSM (FBS4) module using the CG FC200 ECU programmer on the bench.
Applicable models: C207, C292, W166, W212, W218, W447



Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Software Setup

Open the CG FC200 software and select:
Mercedes → Continental DSM FBS4 MC9S12XEQ512 – Platform Mode



2. Wiring Connection

Follow the wiring diagram and connect the DSM module to the FC200 as shown:

• 4 × 12V
• 1 × GND
• CAN-L
• CAN-H

Make sure all connections are secure and correctly matched.



3. Supported Functions

Read Dflash (cannot be used to clone DSM)

• Write Dflash
• Change VIN
• Renew / Reflash
• Transfer data

4. Module Identification

After completing the wiring, identify the DSM module within the software.
If detected successfully, the module status will display “Activated.”



5. Backup Original Data

Select “Read Dflash” to back up the DSM’s original data.

Note: This backup is for data preservation only and cannot be used for cloning.



6. Virginize the DSM

Click “Renew / Reflash” to reset the DSM module to its virgin state.



7. Completion

When the process finishes, the software will confirm:
“DSM is now renewed.”
