How to Encode a BMW F Series Using CGDI BMW Prog
In this guide, we'll walk you through the process of using the CGDI BMW device to perform coding on a BMW F Series vehicle. Follow the steps below for a successful operation.
What You'll Need:
CGDI Prog BMW device
OBD cable and USB cable
BMW F Series vehicle (in this case, the dashboard is removed for testing)
Step-by-Step Guide:
1. Connect the Device
Plug the CGDI BMW into the vehicle using the OBD cable.
Connect the device to your PC via USB cable.
2. Start the Vehicle
3. Launch CGDI BMW Software
Open the CGDI BMW application on your computer.
Select "BMW F/G Series Coding" from the main menu.
4. Read ECU Information
The software will automatically read and display the ECU information.
5. Back Up Original Coding
Select "FEM_BODY" from the ECU list.
Click "Backup Coding" to save the original settings.
The backup file path will appear on the screen for reference.
6. Start Encoding
