How to Clone Hyundai and Kia NCF29Ax Smart Keys Using the CGDI K2?

If you need to clone a Hyundai or Kia smart key equipped with an NCF29Ax NXP chip, the CGDI K2 offers a straight-forward cloning function. You can write the extracted data onto either a brand-new or a used original key, provided its frequency matches that of the original key.

Note: The NCF29AG chip variant is currently not supported.

What You'll Need

• CGDI K2 Smart Key Tool
• Original smart key
• Target key (new or used original key with matching frequency)
• CGDI K2 Key Unlock Renew Cable (for soldering) or GODIAG Solder-Free Clip Adapter

Step-by-Step Procedure

1. Connect the Key PCB
Disassemble the original key housing to expose the circuit board.
If using the GODIAG solder-free clip, align it with the PCB and connect it to the CGDI K2 via the converter.
If you don't have the clip adapter, solder the CGDI K2 renew cable directly to the designated solder points on the board.

2. Read the Original Key Data
Launch the CGDI K2 software, select Key Adding, and then choose Hyundai/Kia Smart Key Cloning.




The software will display various PCB layout options—select the one that matches your original key's board.



Tap Start the operation, then click Continue. The tool will begin reading the chip data.




Once the reading is complete, save the file to your device.




3. Write to the New Key
Return to the previous screen, connect your target key (new or used), and upload the saved file.
After the writing process finishes, your cloned smart key is ready for use.
